Motory silence, breath hold, fixed eye, focused ear.
Visible but unforeseeable countdown.
I’m behind you in this suspended moment
of interruction of mobility and activity.
For a time-fraction we are in the same place and in the same condition
but we decide to mantain our anonimity.
You are behind me. We both wait for the starting signal.

How many times the experience of waiting prevails in our everyday life.
Sometimes it could be foreseeable, estimable and relatively pleasant.
Other times because of it’s indeterminateness and its relative shortness it could be destabilizing.
By the observation of places and the people’s behaviour and through the listening of the sounds it becomes spontaneous to ask about the meaning of the experience of waiting in our culture and in our everyday life.
What kind of relation exists between the waiting places, the people that use them and the social rhythm? If it exists, what kind of relation begins between the people involved and the context they share? How do they experience the waiting time?

The sound installation “Wait with me “ introduces a subjective point of view about the waiting experience. The originally aleatory score, created from the movements and an emotional interpretation, is completed by “intermittent” sound signals, that express the identity and the rhythm of the waiting places. Their combination wants to refer to the untouchable sound atmosphere of the waiting experience.

Bewegungsstille, Atemstillstand, starrer Blick, gespitzte Ohren.
Sichtbarer, aber unvorhersehbarer Countdown.
Ich bin neben dir in diesem Moment des Schwebens,
der Unterbrechung der Mobilität und Aktivität.
Für einen Bruchteil von Zeit befinden wir uns am selben Ort in derselben Situation,
aber wir beschließen, unsere Anonymität zu wahren.
Du bist neben mir. Beide warten wir auf das Startsignal.

Wie oft beherrschen Wartemomente unser Leben. Oft können sie vorhersehbar, berechenbar und daher relativ angenehm sein. Andernfalls können sie, trotz der relativen Kürze, wegen ihrer Unbestimmbarkeit verunsichernd sein. Beobachtet man die Standorte und das Verhalten der Personen und lauscht man den Geräuschen, fragt man sich spontan nach dem möglichen Sinn des Wartens in unserer Gesellschaft und unserem Alltag.
Welches Verhältnis gibt es zwischen Warteraum, ihn benutzenden Personen und sozialem Rhythmus? Falls überhaupt, welches Verhältnis entsteht zwischen den Individuen, die diese Situation teilen?
Wie empfinden oder reinterpretieren sie die Wartezeit?

“Wait with me” schlägt eine subjektive Interpretation des Themas in Form einer Klanginstallation vor. Die ursprünglich improvisierte Partitur der Bewegungen und Gemütsregungen wird mit intermittenten Klangsignalen, die die Identität und den Rhythmus der Warteräume ausmachen, integriert.

Silenzio motorio, fiato trattenuto, occhio fisso, orecchio attento.
Countdown visibile ma imprevedibile.
Io mi trovo accanto a te in questo momento di sospensione,
di interruzione della nostra mobilità e delle nostre attività.
Per una frazione di tempo ci ritroviamo nello stesso luogo e nella stessa condizione,
ma decidiamo di mantenere la nostra anonimità.
Tu sei accanto a me. Entrambi aspettiamo il segnale d’avvio.

Quante volte i momenti di attesa si impongono nel nostro vissuto. Spesso possono essere prevedibili, calcolabili e quindi relativamente piacevoli. Altre volte nella loro inderteminatezza, nonostante la loro relativa brevità, possono essere destabilizzanti.
Osservando i luoghi, i comportamenti delle persone e ascoltandone i suoni, viene spontaneo interrogarsi sui sensi possibili dell’attesa nella nostra cultura e nella nostra quotidianità.
Che relazione esiste tra i luoghi di attesa, le persone che li frequentano e il ritmo sociale? Se esiste, che tipo di relazione si instaura tra gli individui in questo contesto condiviso? Come viene da loro vissuto o reinterpretato il tempo di attesa?

“Wait with me”, propone un’interpretazione soggettiva sul tema nella forma di un’installazione sonora. La partitura originariamente improvvisata dei movimenti e degli stati d’animo si integra con segnali sonori “intermittenti”, che esprimono l’identità e il ritmo dei luoghi di attesa. La loro combinazione vuole evocare l’impalpabile atmosfera sonora dell’attesa.
